Share Agnes Ann Walsh SCARBOROUGH – Agnes Ann Walsh, 100, passed away at her residence at Piper Shores in Scarborough on June 30, 2021. She was born in Portland on August 6, 1920, as the only child of John Randall and Agnes Annie Gough Walsh. She was educated in South Portland schools and graduated from South Portland High School in 1937. She ventured north to Orono and the University of Maine. She graduated in the great Class of 1941 with a degree in Latin. While at the University of Maine she immersed herself in many activities including the Delta Delta Delta sorority, Debating Team, Language Club, student publications, and field hockey. She was a member of the select group of Sophomore Eagles, a student organization that promotes the customs and traditions of the university. The spirit of the Eagles mission never left her as she

Sylvia was born Nov. 6, 1939 in Portland, the daughter of the late Stella and David Erickson. She graduated from Deering High School in 1957. Her brother, Roger Erickson and sister, Lena Lathrop predeceased her. On August 26, 1961, she married Robert E. Coombs. Sylvia and Bob were introduced to each other by her sister, and they fell in love and settled in Portland where they raised their children. They enjoyed hosting holidays for family and friends. He was 98. Born and raised in Cambridge, Mass., he was the son of Nathaniel C. Nash III and Mary Evelyn (Howe) Nash. Nick was the quintessential gentleman with a charming, polite, and genteel manner that was appreciated by everyone who met him. Warm and caring, Nick always placed concern for others above himself. He was affable, engaging and it was a true pleasure to be in his company. He had a superb and clever command of the English language which he used skillfully to showcase his quick wit and generous sense of humor.
