Fries, the prolific producer and executive who was known as the Godfather of the Television Movie, died Thursday in Los Angeles, his family announced. He was 92. In 1974, he formed Charles Fries Productions, which later became Fries Entertainment. By one estimate, he and his company produced and/or supervised more than 275 hours of telefilms, miniseries and series.
