NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the government s handling of the novel coronavirus pandemic amid India s fight against Covid.
As Gandhi made the frontal attack against the Prime Minister, two other senior Congress leaders, P Chidambaram and Jairam Ramesh, too joined him.

NEW DELHI: Even as Delhi Police said that the probe into posters running down Prime Minister Narendra Modi over vaccine supplies had shown the involvement of several AAP members in violation of lockdown rules, the issue took a political turn with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeting “arrest me too”.
Congress protests against the arrests in the case saw the party using the “Modi ji why did you send vaccines meant for our children abroad” line widely on social media. Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra made it their Twitter profile picture and party spokesman Pawan Khera said the PM was bound to be asked questions because he had centralised all decision-making since the onset of the pandemic, and had sought credit for “disproving” the forecast of a “tsunami” of infections. ....

NEW DELHI: A new analysis from the University of Washington Institute for Health Metrics & Evaluation (IHME) shows that various countries may be under-reporting or under-counting Covid-19 deaths. According to the analysis in the study ‘Estimation of total mortality due to Covid-19’, the US and India together may have 7.7 lakh more deaths due to Covid-19 than they officially reported.
The analysis shows that the US may have undercounted deaths by at least 3.4 lakh, while it is 4.3 lakh in India. Among the top six countries with a high number of deaths, the UK’s reporting is the best, while Russia’s is the worst. ....

Bajaj Auto announces that Rahul Bajaj decides to resigns as the non-executive director and chairman of the firm. He has been named as Chairman Emeritus of Bajaj Auto for a tenure of five years with effect from May 1.
In an exchange filing, the company states that Niraj Bajaj, Non-executive Director of Bajaj Auto has been appointed as its chairman with effect from May 1.
The company states that Rahul Bajaj, who has been at the helm of the company since 1972 and of the Bajaj Group for five decades, has tendered his resignation considering his age. His resignation would  come into effect from close of business hours on April 30, 2021. ....
