Its being called a Heat Dome, a huge band of High Pressure which has settled across a vast swathe of North America and canada, bringing with it a Summer Heatwave which is breaking all records. Its hotter in parts of Western Canada right now than it is in the desert in dubai. A new record was set on sunday in the town of lytton in british columbia, where the temperature reached 46. 6 celsius thats 116 fahrenheit. The cause is this band of High Pressure stretching from california right up through canadas arctic territories, inland through idaho and utah. The Heat Dome acts like a lid on a Cooking Pot and has set records in many other areas. But not everyone is cooling off in the water. The elderly and vulnerable are at risk.
