A barrier island in Alabama was swamped by rising seawater and falling rain during Hurricane Sally on September 16.
According to Fox News the hurricane dumped as much as 30 inches of torrential rainfall on the heart of Dixie and pummeled the coast with fierce winds. Wreckages from fallen trees and splintered homes were scattered about the area, but one piece of debris was cast further than the rest.
Chrissy Shahankary was looking for seashells on the beach on Padre Island National Sea Shore in Texas recently, when she found a sign from a bed and breakfast on Dauphin Island about 800 miles away. ....

Convicted Sex Offender Charged with Molesting 3 Girls in Santa Ana

SANTA ANA (CNS) - A 25-year-old convicted sex offender is scheduled to be arraigned next week on charges of molesting three girls he tutored in literacy program at the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana.
Miguel Angel Pineda of Huntington Beach was charged last week with nine felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child younger than 14. Pineda, who is being held on $1 million bail, is scheduled to be arraigned April 8 in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana.
Pineda is accused of molesting three girls when they were 7 and 8 years old, according to the Orange County District Attorney s Office. ....

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - As they do every year at this time, members of the local rabbit rescue community are urging people to avoid the temptation to purchase or adopt bunnies as Easter gifts for their children.
They say what begins as a well-meaning gesture often leads to abandoned bunnies when the novelty wears off and families realize they re not equipped to properly care for the animals.
The Los Angeles Rabbit Foundation sent out its annual message this week, reminding the public that “real baby rabbits, chicks and ducklings make poor Easter presents. If you are tempted to buy a real rabbit for the Easter basket, please reconsider. ....
