On Monday night, the Eureka Springs City Council approved a nine-month moratorium on CUP applications for R-2 and R-3 zones. The council first heard from residents who live in a subdivision where another resident has allegedly been operating illegal tourist lodging. Ferguson Stewart said the neighborhood was quiet when he moved in 2012. Ive lost my quiet neighborhood, Stewart said. Its now a runway. There shouldnt be any tourist lodging in our area, but we have something going on. ....
Thursday, July 29, 2021 Bill Ott Eureka Springs City Council member Bill Ott has been appointed to the Arkansas Municipal Leagues Advisory Council for Economic Development for 2021-2022. The purpose of the advisory council is to allow municipalities to get together and discuss their mutual programs and advise the municipal leagues staff and executive committee as to the types of services and policies they would like to pursue. Im just very honored that I would be selected to be a representative on that and more importantly to be representing my community in economic development because thats important to our community, especially being basically a one-industry community, said Ott, who was appointed by League president and Berryville Mayor Tim McKinney. If we can find a way to get some green industry, that would be great, but thats not why Im on that advisory group. ....
