MIFFLINTOWN, Pennsylvania (WPMT) Mifflin County Regional Police have charged two Juniata County teens with setting a fire that consumed the “Biden Barn,” an empty structure painted with a campaign ad for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and a message calling for unity over division, on March 6. Michael Kauffman, 19, of Mifflintown, is charged with arson, possession of explosive/incendiary material, two counts of criminal mischief, recklessly and endangering another person in the destruction of the Reedsville, Mifflin County landmark, police say. The other suspect is a 15-year-old boy that police did not identify due to his age. The 15-year-old suspect is a volunteer firefighter with the Yeagertown Fire Company, according to the complaint. He, Kauffman, and two other juveniles were driving around in the 15-year-old suspect’s pickup truck on the night of March 6. ....

LEWISTOWN In these times of difficulty, holding on to hope that is offered through what Christ has done for us is important, says Pastor Steven Small. Small, originally from York, took over as pastor at Rhodes Memorial and Yeagertown United Methodist Churches on Jan. 15. He says that during these difficult times, it is important to find ways to stay connected with one another. “I would like to see churches work together with other churches in the area to help meet the needs of our community, whether that’s putting food on the table or finding ways for people to have the services that they need to maintain life.” ....
Carol H. Raymond, 82, of Lewistown, passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital. Born July 12, 1938, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late James A. and Clara E. (Gearhart) Henry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, James A. Henry Jr. and Lawrence A. Henry, and a sister, Mary Ann Henry. Carol is survived by her husband, Robert H. Raymond Jr., to whom she was married for 52 years. Also surviving are: sons, Robert H. Raymond III, of Yeagertown, and Timothy M. Raymond and wife, Jill, of Selinsgrove; grandchildren, Alexander and Abigail Raymond; and a brother, William E. Henry and companion, Barbara Harry, of Marana, Ariz. ....
