ourselves on land. and there is a very well defined, very clear cut demarcation line between the green and the pink indicating the rain versus the icing. so, we have been hearing from our eyewitness weather watcher networks up in this area of the poconos, that yes, there is sleet falling, there is icing taking place, and if this is where your travels take you, slow down. that s all you can expect, that you are going to get slowed down, and if you can, wait it out. because eventually this will get turn over to rain for you too. meanwhile, besides from winter weather advisory that lasts until 11:00 a.m., just a lot of rain to track. may be few little breaks along the way even through 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 a.m., will still be wet weather to track locally, then just oops gets out of here, basically by lunchtime, things are really starting to wrap up. so, you will still have some ponding on the roads, certainly some spray from vehicles, but it will at least have sees today ....
now been dropped up in the lehigh valley and berks county. it s still in effect up in the poconos until 11 o clock this morning but you can see how that warm air as expected has pushed to the north and there might be a little bit of lingering sleet left over in the northern suburbs like lehigh valley, maybe berks county, especially up toward lehigh i think but it s really becoming less of a factor. i d still take it slow up there just in case something froze up earlier in the overnight hours but it s mainly rain for the rest of us. you could see that some of this is a little on the steady to heavy side with some pockets highlighted in yellow. the wider view on satellite and radar shows that you farther to the north in new york and the poconos you ve got that mixed precipitation and all out snow farther to the north and east. if you re driving to the poconos you ll have problems this morning. that should get better around midday and this rain looks like it s probably goi ....
then even farther south you get a bit of that. up to the north and west it s not quite as bad and there s a break up out to the west we expect the rain to taper down and taper off by about midday. good news t-the winter weather advisory has now been canceled in the lehigh valley and berks county but it s still up in the poconos. so if you have travel plans to head up north until 11 o clock this morning you re liable to see some continuing sleet and perhaps some freezing rain up in the poconos. temperatures though are improving. 47 degrees in philadelphia. 45 in wilmington. well above freezing in allentown and reading now and there you see the poconos still at 28 degrees. 51 degrees in millville and 54 in sea isle city. that warm air from the south surging up. and if you re headed out between 6:00 and 8:00 expect it to still be raining. temperatures will be rising though up to about 52 degrees in philadelphia by 8:00 a.m. and as we roll into the afternoon, even milder. 5 ....
