Taiwan cycling and sporting goods fairs go online 02/08/2021 05:45 PM Image courtesy of TAITRA Taipei, Feb. 8 (CNA) Taipei Cycle and the Taipei International Sporting Goods Show (TaiSPO), which showcase Taiwan s bicycle products and sporting goods, will be held digitally in March rather than on-site, the organizer said Monday. In a statement, the Taiwan Trade External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) said Taipei Cycle Online & TaiSPO Online will be held March 3-31, allowing international buyers to participate remotely using the new digital platform. The on-site fairs, which were originally slated to be held together at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center from March 3-6, have been scrapped due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19, TAITRA said. ....

Taiwan announced on Monday that it will not raise prices for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) products for households or industrial use in February as the Lunar New Year holiday approaches. Prices for liquefied petroleum gas in cylinders for household, food stand and restaurant use, and propane, butane and propane- butane mixtures for industrial use and LPG for automobile use will not be increased to keep prices down over the Feb. 10-16 holiday, CPC said in a statement. Based on a formula calculating LPG costs, the price for LPG products in February should have been increased by NT$1.5 (US$0.054) per kilogram, the state-run company said. ....

Taipei, Feb. 1 (CNA) The physical 2021 Taipei International Machine Tool Show (TIMTOS), which was scheduled to open in March, will be postponed to an as-yet undecided date due to a surge in domestic cases of COVID-19 in Taiwan, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) said Monday. However, the show will still take place March 15-April 15, albeit in a virtual format, the department said. ....
