The Mocs were impressive in winning their first nine non-conference games, but had fallen on hard times in close losses to Furman and VMI to begin league play. The Samford Bulldogs provided the opposition in this latest battle and the Mocs were able to pull out a 73-68 victory, improving to 10-2 overall and 1-2 in SoCon action. Furman (5-3): Furman continues to be the head of the class when it comes to the Southern Conference basketball power rankings.
