Delhi Police have arrested a protester for allegedly attacking the Station House Officer (SHO) of Samaypur Badli police station during a chase after he stole a policeman’s car by threatening him with a sword near the Singhu border, said a senior police officer on Wednesday.

Security upped at Delhi borders
The Delhi Police intensified security at all border points of the city as thousands of personnel including paramilitary forces have been deployed to deal with any situation emerging out of the nationwide chakka jam being held on Saturday by the farmers protesting the Centre s new agri laws, officials said.

At international meet, they express concern over state of democracy in India
There is growing concern abroad about the state of democracy in India, activists said during an international conference organised on Sunday in support of protesting farmers.
Addressing a virtual event called ‘Global Indian Diaspora in Solidarity with Indian Farmers,’ they said that the democratic world was worried over recent developments in India and the new farm laws would force farmers and migrants to resort to tenant farming.
