Fishcopfed: HC sets aside Registrar Order; Sandhe no longer Chairman
No ruling on election process; to be decided by Arbitrator
Hearing the petitions last week, the Delhi High Court had set aside the order of the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies related to the appointment of Ramdas Sandhe as the officiating President and Mukesh as the MD in-charge of the apex body of fisheries co-operatives in the country FISHCOPFED.
The court has, however, not commented on the validity of the election process. It has merely annulled the appointment of Sandhe and Mukesh as Chairman and MD. The High Court has ruled that the status quo in this regard would be maintained until the learned Arbitrator decided the interim applications filed by any of the parties. ....

Mehsana Urban Co-op Bank in news; Central Registrar orders Arbitration
Chairman & some Directors are alleged to have misappropriated funds
Amidst news of irregularities in one of the leading UCBs of Gujarat, Mehsana Urban Cooperative Bank, the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies Vivek Aggarwal has appointed Vipal Ganda, Advocate as an Arbitrator to resolve the issues.
Arbitrator Vipal Ganda has been asked to submit his report to the office of the Central Registrar within 90 days. The cases, among others, relate to misappropriation of funds by the Chairman and some of the Directors of Mehsana Urban Cooperative Bank.
A slew of complaints was filed by a few shareholders led by one Kiritbhai Patel against the Bank citing hanky-panky deals and cases of irregularities. The complaints name UCB’s current Chairman Ganpatbhai Patel, CEO Vinod M Patel and some other directors for their involvement in misappropriation of funds. ....

New Liquidator for Mapusa Urban Co-op Bank
Former Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Anthony De Sa, Retd. IAS has been appointed as the new liquidator for Goa based Mapusa Urban Cooperative Bank.
The term period will be of two years and the liquidator has been asked to submit quarterly reports about progress of liquidation to the office of Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
De Sa has formally taken over the charge as the liquidator.
Readers would recall that the Bank was put under liquidation on 23.04.2020 wherein Daulat Anandrao Hawaldar, Retired IAS was appointed as the liquidator of the bank. The tenure of Hawaldar was completed on 23.04.2021. ....

The Committee on Enforced Disappearances this afternoon concluded its consideration of a report submitted by Colombia containing additional information under article 29 (4) of the Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance on measures taken to implement its provisions.
Committee Experts pointed out that despite the signature of the peace agreement, enforced disappearances continued in Colombia. They asked the delegation to clarify what kind of databases contained information on persons allegedly subjected to forced disappearance in the country, both in the context of the conflict and outside it. Specifically, the Committee would appreciate data on the missing persons presumed to be persons subjected to enforced disappearances in the strict sense of article 2 of the Convention, disaggreg ....
