Karnataka Government To Set Limit On Ambulance Fees For COVID Patients May 11, 2021, 14:18 IST After receiving numerous complaints about ambulances charging exorbitant rates to transport Covid-19 patients and victims, the Karnataka government is expected to set a price limit for the entire state. Minister of Health and Medical Education K Sudhakar met with Transport Minister Laxman Savadi on Monday. A senior health official said, The process of establishing a fixed charge or a maximum price limit has begun. When a final decision is made, an official notice will be sent out. An ambulance driver and his associate were arrested by Bengaluru police last month for allegedly attempting to extort the relatives of a Covid survivor. The duo requested Rs 60,000 from a woman to transport her father s body to a crematorium, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) C K Baba.
