Pa. Dept. of Health to open more pop-up coronavirus testing locations Updated Dec 23, 2020; Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine on Wednesday announced that beginning Dec. 27 regional drive-thru and indoor walk-in testing clinics will be held in Beaver, Clearfield, Juniata, Potter and Schuylkill counties. The counties with testing sites will change each week over the next nine weeks so that 61 counties will eventually be covered by dedicated pop-up testing sites over a 12-week period, according to a press release. From March through Dec. 22, the department has received 7,020,397 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test results which roughly equates to 54.8% of the population. From May through Dec. 22, the department has received 568,270 antigen test results. The total number of tests combined, 7,588,667, roughly equates to 59.3% of the Pennsylvania population, according to the release. ....
[email protected] MIFFLINTOWN During a brief meeting Tuesday, the Juniata County Commissioners formally adopted the 2021 budget of $12,712,720.83 that includes a real estate tax increase. The budget raises the real estate millage rate to 25 mills, up from 22.75 mills. It is the first increase to the millage rate since 2009. One mill is equivalent to $1 per $1,000 of assessed property value. That means a Juniata County property valued at $50,000 would see a tax increase next year of $112.50. The commissioners also urged the public to take advantage of a drive-through COVID-19 testing site that is coming to Juniata County beginning Sunday and running through Dec. 31. ....
[email protected] MIFFLINTOWN–The Juniata County Commissioners announced yesterday that a COVID-19 testing site will be at the Central Juniata EMS building in Mifflintown. The testing will take place from December 27th until 3 p.m. on December 31st. The testing site will accept medical insurance. Those without medical insurance can still be tested at no cost. “We’re pretty excited that Juniata County will have a testing site so we encourage that folks take advantage of that.” commissioner Alice Gray said. Also during the meeting the commissioers reappointed three to the Juniata County Agricultural Land Preservation Board of Directors effective January 1, 2021 as recommended by Christopher B.
