Canberra driver accused of running down ACT police officers conducting routine traffic stop back behind bars © Provided by ABC NEWS The officers were hit by a green sedan during a traffic stop near the National Arboretum.  (ABC News: Andrew Kennedy) ACT police say it is not yet clear what motivated a 30-year-old Canberra man to drive into three police officers, injuring all three and leaving one pinned under the car. Thomas Matthews appeared briefly in the ACT Magistrates Court by video link where he was formally charged with seven offences, including attempted murder, culpable driving causing grievous bodily harm and driving a car at police.

Three cops hit: Man charged with attempted murder

THE driver accused of running down three police officers at the National Arboretum yesterday (July 12) has been charged with three counts of attempted murder. At about 2.50pm the three officers two which were new to ACT policing had stopped a Toyota Aurion at the Forest Drive and Lady Denman Drive intersection. After speaking with the driver of the Aurion, the three officers moved to the space between the police vehicle and the Aurion, which were 10 metres apart on the side of the road, when a Ford Laser sedan veered left and allegedly drove directly at the three officers. A detective leading senior constable from road policing was thrown onto the bonnet of the Laser, striking the windscreen before landing on the ground in front of the vehicle. A constable was also thrown onto the bonnet of the vehicle before landing on the ground and a second constable was run over and became trapped under the vehicle.

The Seth Concert Series - George Salazar

The Seth Concert Series – George Salazar | Review May 30, 2021 Last updated: May 30, 2021 George Salazar has, at the time of writing, approximately 176,000 followers on Instagram. Not that the size of an online following necessarily has any bearing on someone’s talent. In Salazar’s case, however, what has become his signature song, ‘Michael in the Bathroom’ from Be More Chill, gained a reputation on social media strong enough to propel the musical to the off-Broadway stage and then Broadway itself. Representation matters greatly to Salazar, who repeatedly referenced shows he had been in as well as those he had seen that were heavy on multicultural and diverse casting.
