Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards is now sending approximately 174 national guardsmen to bolster security in Washington D.C. for the presidential inauguration. This, as the speaker of the house tapped Louisiana retired lieutenant general Russel Honore to lead the investigation into the security failures on the day of the riot. Hutto was gunned down in April while he and another officer were attempting to arrest a murder suspect in Baton Rouge.
