OKLAHOMA CITY -
Officers booked Elizette Ferreira into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on one complaint of first-degree murder.
Police responded just before 7 p.m. to the Arden Park Apartments on West Hefner near Western Avenue.
One resident said he did not think twice when he heard gunshots. He said gun violence is a normal occurrence in the area.
“I usually hear it over there,” said Nasir Moss, a resident of the complex.
Moss heard screaming and at first thought children were playing with fireworks.
“I hear one gunshot go off and then it pauses, and then I hear five more shots,” said Moss. ....

An Oklahoma City police officer has been charged with first-degree manslaughter in the shooting death of a homeless man during a confrontation in December, 2020.The shooting took place on Dec. 11 in the 2100 block of West Hefner Road, near Hefner and Penn. in Oklahoma City. Bennie Edwards, 60, was shot and killed during a confrontation with officers. Sgt. Keith Duroy arrived on the scene first and spoke with Edwards. Authorities said Edwards opened up a folding-style knife he had in his right hand and began to tell Duroy to leave. An Oklahoma City police officer has been charged with first-degree manslaughter in the deadly shooting of a 60-year-old mentally ill Black man.
Sgt. Clifford Holman was charged with the felony Thursday in Oklahoma County District Court, more than two months after the Dec. 11 shooting death of Bennie Edwards in the parking lot of a business near the 2100 block of W Hefner Road.
If convicted, Holman, who has seven years of service on the force, faces four years to life in prison with the possibility of parole after serving at least 85% of the sentence.
