Macedon Ranges Shire Council welcomed the announcement of $209,520 from the Victorian Government’s 2021 Local Sports Infrastructure Fund to upgrade the lighting at Lancefield Park.
Council acknowledges the significant funding contribution by the junior and senior Lancefield Football Netball clubs of $50,000 with the support of the Lancefield Park Committee. When combined with the State Government’s $209,520 and Council’s $64,000 contributions, a total of $323,520 goes towards improved lighting.
This project upgrades the sports ground lighting at Lancefield Park, replacing the old lighting system with new environmentally friendly light towers. The new floodlights are LED and provide sports ground lighting to the Australian Standard. ....

The funding, announced today by Victoria Agriculture Minister Mary-Anne Thomas as part of the Victorian Higher Education State Investment Fund (VHESIF), will be used to fund:
Agriculture Production Platform ($3.5 million), to expand La Trobe’s research glasshouses, creating new growth facilities and controlled environment pods. The refurbished glasshouses will provide a unique facility where industry partners will be able to rapidly optimise management and breeding, and use “big data’ to improve yield, quality and plant health.
Applied Industry Agri Platforms ($6.5 million), to develop lab facilities and infrastructure to house dedicated plant phenomics growth chambers that are digitally accessible to regional industry, researchers and students. Plant phenomics uses high-tech visual apparatus to detect and link plants’ physical characteristics with genes, such as seed quality in terms of composition and high-value products from medicinal plants. ....

A Victorian Government funding boost will back La Trobe University to develop cutting-edge food and agriculture research for the benefit of industry now and in the future.
Minister for Agriculture Mary-Anne Thomas was at La Trobe University’s Bundoora campus today to announce $10 million in funding for two projects to improve agriculture and food capabilities.
The Agriculture Production Platform project, which will receive $3.5 million from the Government, will expand the University’s research glasshouses and upgrade equipment with the installation of cutting-edge technology.
The expanded glasshouses will include new growth facilities and controlled environment pods, which will accelerate the development of new and improved plant varieties. It will create a unique facility that will enable Victorian scientists to develop medicinal agriculture innovations and have the best tools available for research. ....
