Ohio State Readies for NCAA Second Round Matchup


COLUMBUS, Ohio – With the No. 9 overall seed, the Ohio State women’s volleyball team is set to face No. 25 Missouri in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday at 12 p.m. ET in the CHI Health Center. The match is slated to air on ESPN3.

It is Ohio State’s 23rd appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first tournament bid since the 2016 season.

Buckeyes Top Missouri, 3-0, in NCAA Tournament Opener


COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 8 Ohio State women’s volleyball team came out strong in its debut on Thursday afternoon with a straight-set win (25-17, 25-20, 25-21) over No. 25 Missouri in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in the CHI Health Center Omaha. The Buckeyes improve to 16-3 on the year.
Ohio State picked up its first NCAA Tournament victory under head coach Jen Flynn Oldenburg and since the 2016 season. The Buckeyes finished the afternoon with a .295 attacking percentage and out-blocked Missouri by a 9-4 margin.
Gabby Gonzales, Emily Londot and Rylee Rader combined for 35 of Ohio State’s 45 kills and nearly matched Missouri’s team total (36). Londot extended her season-long streak of reaching double figures with 13 kills. Gonzales chipped in 12 daggers to hit .355 and Rader added 10 kills as she converted at a .474 clip. ....

The start of the NCAA women s volleyball tournament is officially one week away. It might feel like the longest week ever, but we have a lot to look forward to. Here is a look at 10 of the best duos to watch out for in the tournament this season. These are within the top 10 seeds in the bracket. 
1. Madison Lilley and Alli Stumler Kentucky
To start things off, we have a setter-hitter duo that has been dangerous all season long, and a big reason why Kentucky’s offensive has been so explosive. This Wildcats offense is second in the nation in kills per set with 14.98, so it would be difficult to argue that this isn t a scary duo. Lilley is an All-American setter third in the nation in assists per set with almost 12, and Stumler averaged 4.27 kills per ....
