Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos (Mayor Menchie Abalos Facebook) The mayor made the announcement as she lauded the efforts of the individuals who have set up community pantries all throughout the metro and nearby provinces to help people who have been affected by the pandemic. “We are happy to see the spirit of bayanihan come alive during these trying times. We welcome all forms of help for less fortunate Filipinos brothers and sisters, be it from the government, corporations, or individuals.” Abalos said. “The city of Mandaluyong will not require any permit for community pantries. This is a laudable socio-civic initiative that must be encouraged,” she added.

Kung kailangan mag issue ulit like halimbawa dito sa aming i-lo-lockdown, pwede nila gamitin ‘yon pang work lang, pag mag ta-trabaho sila (We might ask them to use it again. If ever we need to issue quarantine passes in areas which we will place in lockdown, it will be used for work, when they are going to work),” Abalos said when asked if the city will implement the use of quarantine passes anew.
