Pass level of 5,500 feet around southwest Montana could see up to 4 fresh inches of snow by late Friday night. Gallatin County, along with several others around southwest Montana, are under a short-lived Winter Weather Advisory until 11pm Friday evening. The main concern is heavy, wet snow on our mountain passes creating poor visibility situations. Please use extra caution if you must travel. This amount of mountain snow was not expected and the advisory was issued much later in the day than normal. Heavy, wet snow was falling in Bozeman city limits shortly after 6pm and was starting to accumulate on roadways. Not more than an inch is expected to fall in town. ....

Both men were convicted in late 2019 in the killings of Helena Valley residents Charla Rae Taylor, 64, and David Muncie Taylor, 61. The killings were orchestrated by the couple s son Kaleb Taylor, and juries found that Hamm and Wienke were also responsible in the deaths of these individuals. Sustained winds 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to or over 50 mph are possible. Areas impacted: Anaconda, Georgetown Lake, MacDonald Pass, and around Avon, Garrison to Elliston.
