RALEIGH A Harnett County man won a $200,000 Mega Bucks top prize after purchasing a $5 ticket from a local store, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery. Anthony Raines, a native of Dunn, purchased the winning ticket at the Bass Country Store on N.C. 27 East in Coats. The Mega Bucks launched in January with 10 top prizes all at $200,000. Three tickets still remain to be won, according to the Education Lottery. Raines claimed his prize at the Lottery headquarters in Raleigh Wednesday, taking home $141,501 after state and federal taxes. Each year the North Carolina Education Lottery raises more than $725 million for education in the state. In Harnett County, a $10 million grant from the organization will help build a new Northwest Elementary School accommodating 950 students. ....

For the seventh year, the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation (RDRHF) has teamed up with Sorento Custom Homes for the 2021 Red Deer Hospital Lottery Dream Home. The more than 3300-square-foot bungalow is valued at $840,000. The home will include furnishing provided by The Brick and the home prize package will also include $10,000 cash.
