Typically held in Victoria, B.C., it was the first time the Moose Hide Campaign Day was held virtually.
More than 80,000 people from across the country registered for the online event held on Feb. 11 to end violence against women and children.
The day marked ten years since the Moose Hide Campaign has grown from a grassroots to a nation-wide movement after being co-founded by Paul Lacerte with his daughter Raven following a 2011 hunting trip in their traditional territory near the Highway of Tears. ....

The Waterloo Regional Police Service is proud to support the Moose Hide Campaign Day. 
The campaign, which is Indigenous-led, aims to bring awareness and action to ending violence against women and children. 
On February 11, 2021, members of WRPS will be wearing moose hide or vegan Naugahyde pins in support of this significant day. 
“We are honoured to take part in and support this grassroots event to speak-up and stand-up against intimate partner violence and gender-based violence,” said Bryan Larkin, Chief of Police. “The Moose Hide Campaign goes beyond the gesture of wearing a pin and bringing awareness to this important issue.
