Zero accidents reported in Dubai despite foggy weather

Dubai: Dubai Police have reminded drivers to slow down and be cautious while driving in foggy weather. Police also revealed that no major accidents were reported on Sunday. Dubai Police reported zero serious accidents between Sunday midnight and until 9am on Monday and received 2,574 calls during the same time.
Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of the Traffic Department at Dubai Police, said motorists should leave a longer distance than usual between the vehicles during unstable weather. “Drivers should avoid overtaking and speeding. Don’t change the lane unless for emergency and don’t stop in the middle of the road after a minor accident,” Brig Al Mazroui said. “Foggy weather causes horrific accidents on highways due to poor visibility. If motorists neglect traffic instructions then it will result in horrifying accidents,” Brig Al Mazroui added. ....

The Dubai Police Command & Control Centre on Sunday recorded 24 traffic accidents including two major ones between 6am to 9am, due to the heavy fog that blanketed several areas of the emirate.

Colonel Turki Abdurrahman bin Fares, Director of Command and Control Centre at Dubai Police, said they experienced a 30 per cent increase in the number of calls received today, as compared to the previous Sunday, when the centre handled 1,257 emergency calls and recorded 26 traffic accidents (including one major accident). ....

Dubai records 24 traffic accidents in three hours of foggy weather

Dubai: Dubai Police recorded 24 traffic accidents within three hours as a thick blanket of fog enveloped the emirate early on Sunday morning, an official said.
According to Colonel Turki Bin Fares, Director of Command and Control Room in Dubai Police, two serious accidents and 22 minor accidents were reported from 6am until 9am on Sunday.
Dubai Police received 1,810 emergency calls during the foggy weather, an increase of 30 per cent on the same time last Sunday when police had received 1,275 calls and recorded 26 accidents, including a serious one.
Col Bin Fares said that police implemented the ‘Fog System’ with other emirates since the early hours of Sunday morning to prevent the movement of trucks on highways to reduce the number of accidents. ....

Juniper Networks is on a mission to pump more resources into its indirect sales efforts to the tune of $100 million.
That’s according to Juniper’s channel chief, Gordon Mackintosh, who told CRN exclusively that the networking giant will be introducing a revamped Juniper Partner Advantage program (JPA) targeting enterprise sales opportunities.
“The headline is we’re investing over $100 million next year into channel partners. We’re increasing our virtual sales resources to help build demand for partners, and we’re really making a big investment in the partner program,” Mackintosh said. ....
