Jacksonville man sentenced to 60 years in prison for child sex abuse

Columbus Donavan Jeffrey pleaded guilty on Dec. 10 to photographing the sexual assaults of a child and distributing them online, the U.S. Attorney s Office said. He also was ordered to register as a sex offender and pay $24,000 in restitution to child victims.
Jeffrey was HIV-positive, according to his arrest report.
“Predators who exploit innocent children are among the most evil criminals in society, and the acts committed by this defendant are among the most egregious that we have investigated,” FBI Jacksonville Special Agent in Charge Rachel Rojas said. “. ORANGE PARK, Fla. A former Orange Park pastor will spend 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexual battery last month.
William Randall, 77, spent 30 years as the pastor at St. Simon Baptist Church. In 2018, he was arrested and charged with four felonies related to the sexual abuse of child between 12 and 18. The charges related to more than one alleged victim.
Randall initially pleaded not guilty and maintained his innocence for more than two years. Then, last month, Randall pleaded guilty to only one count of felony sexual battery in exchange for prosecutors dropping the other three charges against him. However, prosecutors did not offer him a negotiated sentence. ....
