Jacksonville man sentenced to 60 years in prison for child sex abuse

Columbus Donavan Jeffrey pleaded guilty on Dec. 10 to photographing the sexual assaults of a child and distributing them online, the U.S. Attorney s Office said. He also was ordered to register as a sex offender and pay $24,000 in restitution to child victims.
Jeffrey was HIV-positive, according to his arrest report.
“Predators who exploit innocent children are among the most evil criminals in society, and the acts committed by this defendant are among the most egregious that we have investigated,” FBI Jacksonville Special Agent in Charge Rachel Rojas said. “. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Sending photos of his own sexual abuse of an 11-year-old child to the internet has sent a 44-year-old Jacksonville man to federal prison for 60 years, according to the U.S. Attorney s Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 44-year-old Jacksonville man who photographed his sexual assaults of an 11-year-old child and distributed the pictures online pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 60 years in federal prison.
Columbus Donavan Jeffrey was also ordered to serve a lifetime term of supervised release, register as a sex offender, and pay $24,000 in restitution to child victims.
Jeffrey pleaded guilty on Dec. 10, 2020.
At the time of his arrest in 2019, Jeffrey worked at UF Health. He was fired. ....

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A Florida man has pleaded guilty to taking pictures of himself as he sexually abused a child, officials said.
Columbus Donavan Jeffrey, 43, could be sentenced to up to 60 years in federal prison for his possession of 635 images and 57 videos of children being sexually abused, according to the Florida Department of Justice.
A social messaging app alerted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on May 3, 2019, when a user named “hideme1977,” uploaded multiple pornographic images using the app, according to the DOJ. The user, later identified as Jeffrey, uploaded photos that showed him sexually abusing an 11-year-old child. ....
