Ambitious plans to transform a key town centre site with a new leisure and cultural hub have taken a step forward.
After unveiling the Lowestoft Town Centre Masterplan last June, this blueprint for the future of the town over the next decade will progress next month as a major funding decision is expected.

A range of investment projects are set to get under way in Lowestoft in 2021, with an iconic  £126.75m bridge at the forefront of the regeneration.
After more than 100 years of waiting, it is finally all systems go for the new Gull Wing third crossing over Lake Lothing, with preparatory work starting last month on a project that is hoped to reduce traffic congestion in the town, regenerate the area and attract new investment for the local economy.

How Towns Fund boost could transform Lowestoft | East Anglian Daily Times


We await the response from Government, which is expected in early March, before moving onto the business case phase.

The bulk of the bid is to cover projects in what has been designated as the Cultural Quarter of the town, totalling £14.7 million.
This would see upgrades to the Marina Theatre and demolition of the vacant Battery Green car park to build a new, vibrant building to support performing arts as well as commercial and leisure facilities, with the project costing a total of £35.8 million. ....

Latitude should have been celebrating it s 15th year at Henham Park in 2020, before the inevitable cancellation disappointed thousands.
This year, the festival is set to run from Thursday, July 22 to Sunday, July 25, and will take place a week later than usual to fall within the summer holidays.
