Delimitation commission to visit J&K for 4 days beginning today

The delimitation commission headed by Justice (Retired) Ranjana Prakash Desai is beginning 4-day long visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday to meet representatives of political parties, government offices etc. in order to complete the delimitation process of Assembly seats/Lok Sabha seats so that elections are held in the Union territory.
All the three members of the commission including Justice (Retired) Ranjana Prakash Desai, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sushil Chandra Sharma and State Election Commissioner (SEC) K.K.Sharma, will reach Srinagar today.
The commission will meet political leaders in Jammu on July 8. It will have detailed interaction with deputy commissioners of Kashmir division at Pahalgam and Srinagar on July 7 and those of Jammu division at Kishtwar and Jammu on July 8 and 9. ....

ISLAMABAD: There was no letup in Covid-19 cases in Islamabad and Rawalpindi as the twin cities on Saturday reported 1,022 with six deaths.
Officials of the capital administration said that during the last 24 hours 7,591 tests were conducted
in the city, which showed 796 people had coronavirus with positivity rate remaining at 10.5pc, they added.
Two more deaths from Covid-19 were also reported in the capital taking the tally to 574. Both were women from the age groups of 60-69 and 80-89, The officials said, adding at present the capital had over 11,000 active cases. ....
