The easing of coronavirus restrictions at Millfield Care Home in Oldham meant that resident Eric Bradshaw, 95, was able to be reunited with his daughter Ruth. Mr Bradshaw, a signalman during the war, said he ‘could not put into words’ how it felt to be close to her again, after the pandemic forced them apart for 11 months. ....

Joined by volunteers from Rotary Heywood 2020, Santa and his sleigh have made the rounds in the town, bringing smiles to people’s faces, even waving to residents of Millfield Care Home on his visit before returning to Lapland to prepare for Christmas Eve.
Mike Goldrick, of Rotary Heywood 2020, said: “We have also been round the primary schools of Heywood which has been a fantastic experience for our members, and for the schools, who welcomed us with open arms.” ....
