Portland State kicks off 'Toon Tour' of Campus

Portland Artist Mike Bennett and the Unipiper, Brian Kidd, fire up the PSU Toon Tour.
Portland State University officially launched its self-guided tour of campus this month featuring 24 life-size cartoon cutouts scattered across campus in a delightful treasure hunt. 
The art along the  PSU Toon Tour  is the work of a local artist, Mike Bennett, who works tirelessly to keep Portland neighborhoods vibrant and entertaining. 
The final piece of the Toon Tour a cutout of Portland’s most famous unicycling bagpiper, the Portland Unipiper was installed in a special, socially distant event on campus. The art piece was delivered especially by the Unipiper himself, Portlander Brian Kidd.  ....

Pinoy-made Flash indie games preserved for posterity as browser support ends

Filipino-made indie Flash games have been selected by the curators of BlueMaxima’s Flashpoint webgame preservation project as the end of life of Adobe Flash became effective end of 2020.
Khail Santia, one of the Filipino developers whose game was included in the preservation project, said the end of support for Flash felt “like the end of an era”.
“To us developers, Flash was more than just a piece of technology. It’s a medium of independent self-expression, a laboratory for innovation, a passion, a livelihood, and a community,” Santia said in an email. ....
