IRON MOUNTAIN A 28-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning after a high-speed chase that began in Florence, Wis., and ended with the driver barricaded in an Iron Mountain residence.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was notified about 10:38 p.m. Tuesday that the Florence County sheriff’s deputies was pursuing a 2002 Jeep Liberty headed for the Michigan-Wisconsin border, according to a news release from the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
Iron Mountain deputies deployed stop sticks at the state line on U.S. 2 near the M-95 junction. The Jeep ran over the stop sticks and hit a patrol vehicle, damaging it enough it had to be towed, the release stated.

HARDWOOD Troopers from the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post have released the names of two people killed in an explosion in Hardwood, in Dickinson County.
At approximately 9:50 a.m. Thursday, troopers from the Iron Mountain Post responded to a residence on Fordville Road in Hardwood for a report of a large explosion. The homeowners, Roy Kline, age 78, and MaryAnn Kline, age 66, were pronounced dead at the scene.

MSP said the troopers from the Iron Mountain Post responded to a report of a large explosion at a residence along Fordville Road in Dickinson County at about 9:50 a.m. Thursday.
Two fire marshal investigators from the MSP were flown in from Lansing to assist in the investigation.
The cause of the explosion remains under investigation, officials said in the release.
