Missing Breen Township girl found by searchers

BREEN TOWNSHIP, MI    Troopers from the Iron Mountain Post say a 3-year-old girl is fine after she was reported missing Tuesday afternoon. Around 1:35 p.m. officers received a missing person complaint from a residence on Cazzola Road in Breen Township. Eleanor Gendron apparently wandered off while playing with the family’s dogs. Her father called 911 and immediately began a search. Numerous agencies including a Michigan State Police K-9 handler responded to the scene. About 2.5 hours later Eleanor and the dogs were discovered by searchers walking out of the woods and onto a nearby road. She was uninjured and in good health.

Feb 5, 2021 IRON MOUNTAIN A 28-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning after a high-speed chase that began in Florence, Wis., and ended with the driver barricaded in an Iron Mountain residence. The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was notified about 10:38 p.m. Tuesday that the Florence County sheriff’s deputies was pursuing a 2002 Jeep Liberty headed for the Michigan-Wisconsin border, according to a news release from the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office. Iron Mountain deputies deployed stop sticks at the state line on U.S. 2 near the M-95 junction. The Jeep ran over the stop sticks and hit a patrol vehicle, damaging it enough it had to be towed, the release stated.
