TAPP Water achieves 10% of its mission


With the 1,000th customer having acquired a TAPP Water filter, the local company TAPP Water (Malta) Ltd has removed 700,000 plastic bottles used for drinking water from the local ecosystem and achieved 10 per cent of its mission.
“In less than 10 months since we started our mission – during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic – we have made an excellent start and are on track to eliminating the use of 10 million plastic bottles used from drinking water every year by 2024,” company CEO Phil Richards said.
The latest TAPP Water filter, available from TAPP Water (Malta) Ltd, which has been welcomed in the 1,000th household in Malta. ....

The content is designed to help the public be more sustainable in their daily lives, even by making some simple switches in their consumption patterns. The second edition of the Malta Sustainability Forum (MSF) came to an end on Friday 29
th January, following five days of insightful keynotes and panel discussions. More than 1200 participants attended the 16 hours of live transmission (now available online on APS Bank’s YouTube Channel) that brought together an extensive list of 83 speakers (including 55% women and 30% international), covering a variety of the themes around sustainability.

George Vella made it clear that to change the world, the time to act is now
Mr President, you opened the Malta Sustainability Forum 2021 by mentioning the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set in 2015 to achieve a sustainable future by 2030. Will these goals be achieved?
It seems unlikely. Attempts to improve life on earth have been ongoing since the early 1990s. The first goals aimed for the year 2000, followed by the Millennium Summit’s eight international development goals set in 2000. Without a unifying concept, these goals remained unfulfilled five years later. So, the 2015 UN SDGs started well because ‘sustainability’ unifies them. However, despite some promising results, overall progress towards the SDGs has been rather slow. ....
