Future Husker Krause wins state’s volleyball Gatorade Player of the Year
The 6-foot-4 senior outside hitter led the SkyHawks to a 36-1 record and the Class B state championship this past season.

OMAHA, Neb. (Gatorade Press Release) In its 36th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, Gatorade announced Lindsay Krause of Skutt Catholic High School as its 2020-21 Gatorade Nebraska Volleyball Player of the Year. Krause is the second Gatorade Nebraska Volleyball Player of the Year to be chosen from Skutt Catholic High School.
The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Krause as Nebraska’s best high school volleyball player. Coronavirus update: Chippewa County reaches 1,000 cases

As of Wednesday, data from the State of Michigan reported there have been 1,017 cumulative confirmed cases and 1,336 cumulative probables of COVID-19 in Chippewa County.
There have been 32 deaths because of the virus. On Wednesday, it was reported by the Chippewa County Health Department that 1,995 people have recovered.
Compared to last week’s totals, there had been 989 confirmed cases, 1,308 probable cases and 32 deaths due to COVID-19 in Chippewa County. Per the health department, there had been 1,861 people who recovered from the virus.
