Forty-eight coronavirus cases of ‘Delta Plus’
variant have been detected from 45,000 samples sequenced so far in the country, with Maharashtra reporting the highest number of such cases at 20, the Centre said on Friday. It said nine cases of

Tamil Nadu, seven cases in Madhya Pradesh, three in Kerala, two each in
Punjab and Gujarat, and one case each in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha,

Delta Plus, the veteran nephrologist said, was initially considered a variant of interest, but the health authorities have later classified it as variant of concern for three reasons: it is more transmissible, has a stronger binding to the lung cells and is less responsive or resistant to monoclonal antibodies that are now used for treating mild cases.

Dans le Gers, département voisin des Landes, deux personnes de 42 et 60 ans, présentant des facteurs de risque, non vaccinées, sont décédées. Une troisième est en réanimation
Le variant Delta du Covid-19, identifié fin mai dans les Landes, touche aussi le département voisin du Gers. Neuf cas sont suspectés en deux semaines. Deux sont confirmés. Ces deux personnes, âgées de 42 et 60 ans, présentant des facteurs de risque, non vaccinées, sont décédées malgré leur prise en charge à l’hôpital d’Auch, indique l’Agence régionale de Santé d’Occitanie. Une troisième est hospitalisée en réanimation. ....
