Hip Historian Ghost Tour in downtown Phoenix (Photo Credit: Marshall Shore, Debe Branning)
A sunset walk through downtown Phoenix has never been spookier or more educational than when it is taken with Marshall Shore and his co-host, Debe Branning, on their monthly haunted walking tour.
The next available tour on Saturday, April 10 at 6 p.m., will mark seven months since the pair began ushering guests on a two-hour, two-mile excursion to the paranormal side of the city.
Shore, also known as Arizona’s Hip Historian, has been educating the public on the lesser-known side of the Grand Canyon State’s history since its 100th anniversary of statehood in 2012.
Marshall Shore, the man known as âthe Hip Historian,â has a thirst for acquiring new knowledge and sharing it with others. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he had to find new ways to do this, including hosting virtual happy hour.Â
The Arizona History Happy Hours are accessible through the Marshall Shore, Hip Historian Facebook page and on Twitch at 7 p.m. Thursdays.Â
Past shows are also available for view on Facebook and YouTube. Â
Shore has partnered with AARP Arizona, which is helping to promote his virtual show statewide. The historian offers the show for free but is accepting donations. Like many others, he hasnât been able to work due to venue closures and event cancelations during the pandemic. Â
