Gilbert Ray Madrid, a friend of Daniel Murillo, holds a handmade sign on Bullard Street in downtown Silver City on Tuesday. Several cars honked their horns in support of the sign’s message as they drove by. Madrid also planned a small protest today. Cody McDonald, who has been charged with Murillo’s murder, was released to house arrest last week on a $25,000 bond.
