Solano Safe Routes to School grants available starting June 1 SUISUN CITY Grants totaling $100,000 are available to Solano County cities, school districts, schools and community-based organizations from the Safe Routes to School Program. The application period opens June 1 and closes at 5 p.m. July 15. Awardees will be notified by Sept. 15. The Micro-Grant Program funds and supports small-scale bike and pedestrian projects and programs that encourage walking and biking, improve safety around schools and will be implemented within one year of the grant award. The program funded 14 projects in 2020, including radar feedback signs, bike and scooter racks, safety signage and equipment, high visibility crosswalk improvements, bike corral fencing and scooter storage, and walking and biking incentives. ....

Galesburg Community Foundation to open 2021 Turnout Grant cycle Staff report GALESBURG The Galesburg Community Foundation announced the opening of the 2021 Turnout Grant Cycle. The format of the 2021 Turnout Grant Cycle is different from previous years due to COVID-19 and offers a more focused and streamlined process for local nonprofits to apply. The Turnout Grant Cycle is open to 501(c)(3) nonprofit or public charities, including churches, schools and government agencies serving Knox and Warren counties. Organizations should note the changes to this year’s Turnout Grant Cycle, including that they can apply for capacity, general operating or programmatic dollars for use in 2021. This year’s Turnout will be online only with no in-person presentations a short video as detailed in the application is required to apply. Mar 3, 2021 MARQUETTE The Community Foundation of Marquette County, including four affiliate funds Gwinn Area, Greater Ishpeming, Marquette, and Negaunee announce the opening of the annual competitive grant cycle now through April 2. Competitive Grant Cycle grants are made from the community foundation’s unrestricted and field of interest endowment funds. These grants and grant guidelines follow the foundation’s “mission and focus on improving the quality of life for citizens of Marquette County,” organizers said. Volunteers who serve on Community Foundation committees evaluate grant applications for CFMC and each affiliate. Applications are due at noon April 2. In addition to supporting nonprofit programs, one-time operational support grants are also available this year.
