The University of Illinois recently announced that all faculty and staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by the beginning of the new school year. The Board met this week and have chosen unanimously to add a third and permanent Student Trustee position, who will represent the voice and perspective of FNMI students across the region. “Indigenous education and reconciliation are key priorities for the Kenora Catholic District School Board. Our FNMI student population is over 40 per cent, and it’s important that all students have a voice, are represented and that Indigenous student perspective is well-reflected in Board decisions,” says Chair of the Board, Teresa Gallik.
