Mattoon, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Lake Land College held a virtual Student Recognition Event via Zoom April 28 to recognize several students for their achievements in the classroom and beyond. Interim Director of Student Life Dave Seiler hosted the event with faculty and staff offering praise for the outstanding student leaders.
Lake Land College President Josh Bullock began the event with a few words of congratulations and appreciation to the students.
“The strength in Lake Land College truly lies in our students,” Bullock said in his remarks. “It lies in the quality and commitment of our students to their educational journey and their learning process.”

KINGSTON The three student trustees for the 2021-22 school year were announced at the a general meeting of the Limestone District School Board on April 27.
Tanesha Duncan, currently in Grade 11 at Loyalist Collegiate, will be the urban trustee; Shana Johnson, currently in Grade 11 at North Addington Education Centre, will be the rural trustee; and Breanna Roy, currently in Grade 11 at Napanee District Secondary School, will be the Indigenous student trustee.

The Wayne County Health Department reported 2 New (PCR and Probable) cases Friday, with no additional deaths. At approximately 4:10 p.m. on April 29th, Illinois State Police responded to the scene of a Single Unit ATV Crash with Injury at County Road 2450 N eastbound at County Road 625 E, Burnt Prairie, in White County. Preliminary investigative details indicate 40-year-old Joel R. Rosenbeck of Waverly Hall, GA, was traveling eastbound on County Road 2450 N in rural White County driving a Green 1996 Honda Rancher ATV. Upon approaching the intersection with County Road 625 E, Rosenbeck attempted to make a right-hand turn, overturned and , was thrown from the ATV.
