The search involved multiple law enforcement agencies and required that a mile-and-a-half section of Clime Road in western Franklin County be closed for hours, even after a suspect was taken into custody around 4 p.m. The incident began after 1:30 p.m. when Franklin Township police received a 911 call about a man threatening a woman with a weapon at a home on Tall Meadows Drive, a residential street south of Clime Road. Toxicology tests to determine whether overdose killed jail inmate

The Franklin County Sheriff s Office confirmed Tuesday it is investigating the death of a female inmate who was found unresponsive at the Jackson Pike jail more than a week ago. Fredreca Ford, 29, of the Near East Side, died on June 26, one day after being transported from the jail to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center. Ford had been in the jail a short time and was still in a holding cell in the booking area when deputies found her unconscious, Chief Deputy Rick Minerd told The Dispatch on Tuesday. Although the cause of death won t be known until toxicology tests for the Franklin County Coroner s office are completed, five other female inmates fell ill on the same evening as Ford, and several of them admitted they ingested drugs, Minerd said.
