Suspect who exchanged gunfire with officers in custody after hours-long search in Franklin Township

A man who authorities say exchanged gunfire with Franklin Township police before fleeing Thursday afternoon sparked an hours-long manhunt and evacuations to nearby residences.
The search involved multiple law enforcement agencies and required that a mile-and-a-half section of Clime Road in western Franklin County be closed for hours, even after a suspect was taken into custody around 4 p.m.
The incident began after 1:30 p.m. when Franklin Township police received a 911 call about a man threatening a woman with a weapon at a home on Tall Meadows Drive, a residential street south of Clime Road. When police arrived, a male suspect pointed the gun at ....
