A 32-year-old alleged drug suspect was arrested by SAPS Butterworth members while conducting operations in the CBD and Skiti informal settlement. Stop and searches and the searching of drugs formed part of the operations. A shack in Skiti informal settlement was searched and 17 mandrax tablets, 6 tik straws and several pieces of mandrax tablets were found. The suspect was arrested and detained for possession of drugs. He is expected to appear in court today, 25 May 2021

When troopers saw the vehicle, they conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver, who was suspected of being under the influence of drugs, police said.
