Updated: 11:56 AM CST January 20, 2021 WACO, Texas A man is in jail on several charges after police responded to a disturbance call at Abby Glenn Apartments in Waco Tuesday night. The suspect, identified as Dane Anderson, is now in the McLennan County Jail and has been charged with: Burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault, criminal trespass of a habitation and fleeing a police officer. Waco police officers first learned that Anderson had illegally entered his ex-girlfriend s apartment and allegedly began assaulting her Tuesday night, according to Waco police. Two friends of the victim intervened and stopped the assault. ....
A jury trial that had been set for a Killeen woman who allegedly helped a man cover up his murder of Vanessa Guillen likely will be delayed for a third time. On Monday, the defense attorney for Cecily Aguilar, 22, filed a motion for continuance with the federal court in Waco, asking for more time to prepare his case. Last month, the court set a date of Jan. 19 for jury selection to begin, but if U.S. District Judge Alan D. Albright signs the motion, the timeline will be pushed back farther. The motion was not opposed by U.S. prosecutors. ....
Updated: 3:48 PM CST December 29, 2020 KILLEEN, Texas Officers with the Harker Heights Police Department were dispatched to the BanCorpSouth Bank located at 661 W. Central Texas Expressway on December 15 in reference to an ATM alarm. When they arrived, an officer witnessed a person in a vehicle allegedly tampering with the ATM, according to the Killeen Police Department. Authorities attempted to stop the vehicle, but the occupants refused and a vehicle pursuit began. After several moments, the vehicle came to a stop. All three occupants of the vehicle evaded on foot. Officers located one of the suspects, Howard Lee Jordan, age 29, who was placed into custody without incident. Jordan was taken to the Harker Heights Police Department, according to the Killeen Police Department. ....
One arrested after striking Waco officer with car, evading arrest (Source: Raycom Media) and last updated 2020-12-22 18:45:58-05 WACO, TX â On Saturday, December 19, 2020, shortly after 2 am, Waco Police officers received a call in the 2500 blk of S. 27th St. of a disturbance where a man was kicking his cousinâs vehicle. As officers arrived at the scene, they were notified that the man that was causing the disturbance was sitting in a vehicle near the dispatched location. As officers approached the vehicle, the suspect fled the scene. Officers ordered the man to stop, but the suspect refused to comply with orders and began to accelerate. As he was fleeing, the man accelerated towards the officers and struck one of the officers with his driverâs side mirror, striking our officer in the elbow. After this, the officers ran to their vehicle as the suspect continued to flee. ....
