A bedridden disabled woman has died after being trapped inside her burning home in Brisbane s north. Emergency services were called to Maher Street in Zillmere at about 4.15 on Monday afternoon after smoke was seen billowing from a villa. Seven crews of firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze by 4.30pm, where they found a 59-year-old woman had been killed in the fire. She lived alone in the unit with a disability and had regular visits from aged care workers. Emergency crews rushed to the property on Maher Street around 4.15pm following reports of the blaze. Firefighters entered the building soon after but were unable to save the woman.
