Beloved Nashville Venue Exit/In Will Not Close, Developers Say
A beloved Nashville music venue has been spared from what its owners feared was possible extinction after a very public effort to save the historic site. The developers who bought the property that houses the Exit/In have revealed that they intend for the venue to remain intact and, in fact, they say they never meant to do anything else.
Exit/In owners Telisha and Chris Cobb launched a GoFundMe campaign in April after the property at Nashville s Elliston Place where the Exit/In has resided since 1971 was sold to a developer, AJ Capital Partners. The venue is a longtime keystone of what s known as the Rock Block in Nashville s Midtown and one of the most beloved independent music venues in Music City. ....

Nashville musician Matt Daughtry was singing a classic from 1969 The Band s Up On Cripple Creek outside Exit/In on Wednesday afternoon, as a crowd gathered to support a musical institution that s been around almost as long.
Last week, the building that holds Exit/In a 50-year-old rock club that s among Nashville s most iconic venues went under contract to be sold to AJ Capital Partners, a Chicago-based developer.
Since then, Exit/In owner Chris Cobb has launched a crowdfunding campaign to buy the property from its future owners. At Wednesday s gathering, Cobb and his wife, Telisha, along with several city council members, made the case for Exit/In s survival. ....

As a warm breeze blew down Elliston Place on Wednesday afternoon, the planned press conference in front of Exit/In became something of a late-pandemic block party. Several dozen masked folks standing about six feet apart bobbed and swayed to roots-rock outfit Matt Daughtry and Friends, who soul singer A.J. Eason recruited to play a few tunes to warm up the audience. Since March 2020, no one’s been able to see a show at either Exit/In or The End, the two venerable venues straddling the strip of Elliston that has for decades been known as the Rock Block, and which was recognized with a historical marker last summer. Nashville SC appoints Black-owned firms to build training complex in Antioch

While its soccer stadium at the Nashville fairgrounds continues to be assembled, Nashville SC reached the next chapter Tuesday in the construction of its future training facility.
Nashville SC is set to announce Pinnacle Construction Partners and Moody Nolan two Black-owned entities as the construction and architect firms responsible for building the club s 15-acre training complex at Century Farms in Antioch.
