The McKinney Fire Department responded to a structure fire call at the corner of Anthony Street and Wolfe Street. At around 1:12 a.m., firefighters responded to an apartment fire in the 9000 block of Gaylord Parkway. The fire quickly spread to different units at the Circa Frisco Apartments. One resident was rescued from the fire and was treated on scene and transported to Medical City Plano with burn and respiratory injuries. The person remains in the hospital. Two Frisco firefighters suffered minor injuries and were also transported to the hospital. They have since been released. The cause of the fire is under investigation. ....

Updated: 12:54 PM CST January 1, 2021 The cause of a New Year s Eve fire at Hutchins BBQ in McKinney is under investigation, fire officials said. Crews arrived just before 10 p.m. to find flames coming out of the roof at the back of the restaurant at 1301 N. Tennessee St. Firefighters were able to get the fire controlled quickly, officials said. One employee had been inside at the time and was able to get out safely. The restaurant was closed at the time. While fire investigators were at the scene all night, they have not yet determined the cause of the fire. Officials said they do not have any information on how long the restaurant will need to be closed for repairs. ....
