Kush, party drug peddler in Makati bars apprehended

Makati’s Assistant Chief of Police for Operations (ACOPO) Maj. Tyrone Valenzona identified the suspect as Emanuel “Mengo” Mercado, 31, of Barangay Bangkal, Makati.
Based on a police report, the drug sting was led by Makati’s Drug Enforcement Unit officer-in-chief Mark Anthony Farinas at Club 69 located in Barangay Poblacion, Makati around 12:40 a.m.
An undercover policeman transacted with Mercado and bought one plastic bag containing kush or high-grade marijuana from him.
When the suspected drug peddler accepted the marked money, other policemen inside the bar apprehended him.
Retrieved from Mercado were 31 plastic bags containing kush and pieces of suspected ecstasy placed inside small plastic sachets. ....

Dacera family spox says Makati Police has not yet provided complete CCTV footage of hotel

He said the complete CCTV footage of the hotel is important to find out what really happened to Christine Dacera.
“We have been given USB but not given the DVR which contains the entire transcript of CCTV during those days Dec 31, 2020 and January 1, 2021,” he said outside the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
According to Reyes, Makati Police only provided them with splices of incidents, saying many footages are missing.
“In other words, they could splice edit so you don’t have a complete record,” Reyes said.
“Sometimes we wonder why they are not divulging everything on the part of the hotel and Makati police,” he added. ....

Dacera's death due to 'ruptured aortic aneurysm' – PNP medico-legal report – Manila Bulletin

This is consistent with the findings in the autopsy report of the police.
During the continuation of the preliminary investigation on the case of Dacera on Wednesday (January 27), Makati Police submitted the result of Dacera’s histopathology to the Prosecutor’s Office.
In the said report, it was determined that Dacera’s underlying cause of death is ruptured aortic aneurysm.
Police Lt. Col. Joseph Palmero MD, the medico-legal officer who examined the body, said in his expert opinion, the manner of death as homicide is ruled out in Dacera’s case “because the aortic aneurysm is considered a medical condition.” ....

An order has been made to remove a police chief of an affluent area of the Philippine capital, Manila, for his handling of a probe into the suspected rape and murder of an air stewardess.
The case of Christine Dacera, found dead in a hotel room after a New Year s Eve party, made headlines for weeks.
Police quickly said she had been raped and murdered, arresting three men.
But the men have now been released while questions have been raised over officers initial conclusions.

Dacera was found unconscious in the bathtub of her hotel room in Makati City on New Year’s Day following a party with friends the night before, according to initial investigation.
