COVID FINES: How many have been handed out in CQ

Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation compliance inspectors were appointed as Emergency Officers under the Public Health Act to assist Queensland Health monitor compliance with COVID-19 restrictions. Across the state, more than 6,000 public health inspections have been carried out by OLGR compliance officers, with 34 infringement notices handed down. From March 23 2020 to January 24 2021, OLGR inspectors in Central Queensland : completed 598 public health inspections completed 38 investigations issued 140 warnings for key matters including failing to complete COVID Safe training, dancing, exceeding occupant capacity, seating and incomplete or inaccurate record keeping

$5M of funding to support drought declared communities

Premium Content Subscriber only Groups, clubs, local councils and not-for-profits in drought declared regions can apply for a share in $5 million worth of funding in a bid to support drought affected communities. The Palaszczuk Government launched application process for the latest round of the Community Drought Support Program on January 18 to support the 67 per cent of Queensland battling drought. As at December 1, 2020, there are a total of 41 council areas drought declared and four partially drought declared, including much of Central Queensland. Blackall Tambo and Barcaldine regions have been fully drought declared since 2013, with the Central Highlands, Livingstone, Rockhampton and Gladstone regions fully drought declared since April, 2019.
