Earlier this year, the American Land Title Association (ALTA) and the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) implemented the revised 2021 Minimum Standard Detail Requirements (“2021 Standards”) for surveys. If a contract to provide an ALTA/NSPS survey is executed after February 23, 2021, the survey must comply with the updated 2021 Standards.
With the transition to the 2021 Standards, project developers are wrestling with the changes to an optional item, Table A Item 11, which adds certain specifications regarding the depiction of evidence of utilities. Brigett Scott received the 2019-2020 Outstanding Educator Award.
Scott, whose background is in dietetics, is associate dean of the College of Science and Technology and director of the University Honors Program.

MARQUETTE Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced the appointment of Dax T. Richer, of Marquette, to two boards.
Richer was appointed to the Michigan Board of Architects. He is a senior architect at RG Design Company. He is a licensed architect and holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Science in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University. Richer is appointed to represent architects for a term commencing April 1 and expiring March 31, 2025. He succeeds Scott Gustafson whose term expired March 31.
He also was appointed to the Michigan Board of Professional Engineers. Richer is appointed to represent an architect who is a member of the Board of Architects for a term commencing April 1 and expiring March 31, 2025. He succeeds Patrick Barry whose term expired March 31.
